I'm amazed, once again.

As I was doing my regular routine of going through fashion albums, ads & such.. I saw a pic that surpassed all the other ones. I clicked on it & was redirected to a page where the whole album was displayed. That's when I fell in love, tough, sexy, dark, raw, passionate love. The kind of love that is so dark & obscure you just can't help but to wonder; "What is it about it that drives me absolutely crazy?"

Well, I had heard of Steven Klein before, of course, but had paid little attention to his stuff. Apparently, I hadn't realized before that this man knows what he does very well... I can actually say he is a genius at it, in its own form & style.

His art is very dark, raw, sexual, cold, controversial, unusual & someone can say it is even scary. All that sums up to the style that I lean more towards. Let me just say he can definitely get his message across with his photography.

Just listen to the music in the website I provide below, go through his studio & be amazed, & maybe a little scared ;)

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz's work is definitely something to look up to. I was randomly going through some high fashion photography & among the many, hers caught my attention the most. I then saw the collection of pics, loved them, & continued to search for more of her stuff. I think she won me over when I saw she photographed Sarah Jessica Parker & Chris Noth from Sex & The City (woo-hoo!) for the June 08 Vogue cover. After having SJP, SATC & Vogue all in one sentence, who wouldn't be happy?

"…Photography’s like this baby that needs to be fed all the time. It’s always hungry. It needs to be read to, taken care of. I had to nourish my work with different approaches. One of the reasons that I went to Vanity Fair was that I knew I would have a broader range of subjects – writers, dancers, artists and musicians of all kinds. And I wanted to learn about glamour.I admire the work of photographers like Beaton, Penn, and Avedon, as much as I respected grittier photographers such as Robert Frank. But in the same way that I’d had to find my own way of reportage, I had to find my own form of glamour. - Annie Leibovitz

Kwok/Steven-Downtown Photoshoot 3/5/09

We had sooo much fun during the first photoshoot, we had to get a second one going.. My twinkies did an excellent job! Mad props to Kwok who managed to get the lighting & focus with one hand.. & Steven, well, he is all model status.

I'm dying to do a third photoshoot with them. This time I want to step away from the city. I also want Kwok to be the main model this time. As weird as it sounds, he has a certain awkwardness that attracts the camera.

Kwok/Steven-Downtown Photoshoot *(Unedited)

Steven had been asking me for a while to take some time & plan a photo-shoot with him as my model. He is pursuing a modeling career, & he knows how much I enjoy doing little photo-shoots with friends. I agreed & invited an awesome friend of mine, Kwok, to come help us... & of course, he brought his GINORMOUS camera & professional lighting equipment. As a result we ended up taking super cool pics.
